I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CrowdStrike in Jan 2025

      Interview

The interview process for the Senior Front End Engineer role at CrowdStrike was thorough and well-structured, with a strong focus on both technical skills and cultural fit. It began with a recruiter screening, where we discussed my background, experience, and interest in the role. This was followed by a technical phone screen that included JavaScript and front-end problem-solving, including coding challenges and architectural discussions.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

One standout question they asked was: “How would you design a highly interactive and performant front-end dashboard that pulls real-time data?”

      Interview

After a great initial recruiter interview and first round with a senior engineering manager where some technical discussions were had and everything seemed like a great match, I did a second-round interview with two regular engineers on the team. One of them seemed pretty disinterested in being there. There wasn't much discussion of actual problem-solving. They mostly just took turns going through a list of textbook-style questions, asking for definitions of concepts and a few on the exact syntax to use in JavaScript. Things that any developer could look up quickly, but may not have memorized for an interview, so (in my opinion) not of much value. One problem is that they were not very responsive to my questions to elaborate on what they were asking, so I think they were mostly just looking for a correct memorized response to be spat out. However, can't be sure, as I only received a generic rejection email 6 days later and no response to my follow-up questions. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time applying to this company.
