The interview process at Coursera consisted of four stages: an initial recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview, a technical case study presentation and a final senior stakeholder interview. Overall the process was well structured and each stage felt purposeful and relevant to the role. The recruiter was a real highlight. She was communicative, warm, and kept me informed at every stage. I always knew where I stood and what to expect next, which made a potentially stressful process feel much more manageable. She provided a clear brief before each stage which helped me prepare effectively. The stages themselves felt fair and relevant. The hiring manager interview focused on competency-based questions that mapped directly to the role. The case study stage was the most demanding — I was given a real-world scenario and asked to present my findings and recommendations — but it was a genuinely useful exercise that gave me a chance to demonstrate how I think operationally and what queries may come up within the role. The final stage involved a senior US-based stakeholder, which added a slightly different dynamic which was more focused than the earlier stages. Worth preparing for that difference in style if you’re used to a more traditional UK interview format. The timeline was reasonable though the process did run to around four to five weeks in total. There were occasional periods of waiting between stages but the recruiter was always responsive when I reached out and kept me updated throughout.
