The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale in Jun 2009
Interview
Costco uses the same set of behavior based questions for internal or external applicants, like "tell me about a time that you demonstrated excellent member service" or "give me an example of a time you resolved a conflict." Be prepared to tell of specific experiences as they often "drill down" by asking follow-up questions about specific details. Costco rarely hires supervisors or managers from outside, so be prepared to start at the bottom regardless of your education and background. Also, union locations promote based on seniority so avoid them if you intend to move up quickly. Pick a thriving market with frequent warehouse openings for the best opportunities. Also, be willing to do any job and have open availability to get your foot in the door. The high volume of applicants compared to hiring needs makes them reluctant to hire anyone with availability issues.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you had to do an unfamiliar task...
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale (Issaquah, WA) in Jan 2023
Interview
It was a one interview process that consisted of 5 - 7 questions. I was asked to recite the Costco code of ethics and the Costco Mission Statement, briefly describe at least 3 of the programs run on the front end, describe why I would be an asset as a supervisor on the front end, and talk about the 6 rights of merchandising.

Question 1
1. What is the Costco Code of Ethics? 2. What is the Costco Mission Statement? 3. What are 3 programs that are run by the front end? 4. What are the 6 rights of merchandising, and how do you utilize them? 5. How would you be an asset to the front end supervisor team?
I have had two interviews because the position opened up twice in 6 months, I had what seemed to be a great interview and I was set up with things to work on. The second interview was a follow up but I still felt like their reaction was more "getting through the motions" I wish them the best but it doesn't make me confident in future interviews.

Question 1
What are some things you worked on since our last interview and how have they improved?
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Costco Wholesale (Auburn Hills, MI) in Oct 2019
Interview
Two managers or other superiors will interview you. You will likely have 2-3 interviews total before a determination is made. Since you are applying for a supervisor position, you likely have past experience with the company. This will be examined. Try to be well liked.
