I applied online. I interviewed at Coolgradient (Amsterdam) in Oct 2024
Interview
I've never attended a job interview that was led so unprofessionally.
The interviewer was literally reading from a script, when talking about the company she just read the excerpt from the website. Throughout the interview her tone ranged from bored to hostile, she was reading too fast and with her accent plus the poor connection I could barely hear what she was saying. When I asked her to tell me again what would be next step in the recruitment process she answered me condescendingly.
Long before the interview was over I had built up a negative impressione of Coolgradient. This initial screening is not only a step for the company to see if there's a match with the profile, but also to try and encourage the right profiles to commit more time to the recruitment process. There was none of that here, I felt treated like a disposable napkin. No effort whatsoever was put into convincing me that this might be a good opportunity for me at all. The interviewer thoroughly made me feel like whatever I was saying was completely inconsequential. And in the end SHE was going to make a recommendation on whether I should advance to the next round?
I've interviewed with other companies of roughly the same size, that also just raised money, and yet the CEO was doing the screening round. I understand how that may be inefficient but whatever this interview with Coolgradient was, it did not portray the image of a company that I would see myself working in.
Sorry guys but this is ending up on glassdoor.
Hi, Sorry to hear that this happened to you!
As a young and fast-growing company, we continuously need to reinvent ourselves to deliver what we stand for: an inspiring company for everyone. It sounds like we messed up here. Thanks for the feedback. While we learned a valuable lesson from your experience, we apologize that it had to be you from whom we learned it.
Best,
