The selection process for this position comprised four comprehensive stages:
Stage 1: Technical Assessment
A one-on-one technical interview to evaluate core competencies and problem-solving abilities.
Stage 2: Take-Home Assignment
A practical coding task designed to assess technical skills, code quality, and approach to real-world problems.
Stage 3: Live Coding Session
A collaborative session with two senior engineers to extend the take-home assignment with additional features, demonstrating real-time problem-solving and communication skills.
Stage 4: Leadership Interview
A behavioral interview with the Managing Director to assess cultural fit, leadership potential, and alignment with organizational values.
This multi-stage approach ensured a thorough evaluation of both technical capabilities and cultural alignment with the company's standards and expectations.

Interview
Contrarian Thinking interviews for leaders all follow the same format which is really helpful to know up front. You will meet with the other division leaders and a few direct reports. You will be asked why you are the right person for the job, what you think the current gaps are at Contrarian Thinking, and you will be asked how you plan on attacking those from an outsider's perspective. It's always a hybrid technical/strategy/culture fit interview because of the start up nature of the company. It's extremely fast paced and fun and rapid fire questions from other leaders about your experience and how you can help.

Interview
The interview process was quick-moving. I believe I was through in about 10 days (3 interviews). The main thing they seemed to be looking for was cultural fit & someone with experience working on problems they were currently having.
