I had applied by emailing the HR as per the JD and procedure are written on their careers page on the recommendation of my friend's sister.
Got a call from HR and according to my telephonic round, I was given an assignment of NLP(since I had experience of 1 year and 3 months in NLP & Software Engineering)
I was given an assignment: details are in the question section.
After that, I was called for the interview. HR was very warm, sweet and kind.
In my first round of F2F interview, the interviewer was damn arrogant.
I was asked an SQL query of an inner join, 2-3 probability questions, and some ML concepts.
He literally thrashed me on my face that I have no technical knowledge and couldn't write an sql query.
Feedback was given to the CEO, who took my next round.
CEO told as per the feedback by the TL interviewer that they wanted such a person who could teach them about new techniques in ML/NLP and I didn't have even a 1% of it.
And the things I've worked on have been implemented by them 6-7 years ago.
Their expectation was an architect level knowledge from a 1yr 3m experienced person. They asked about Neural Networks/Tensorflow which was nowhere written my resume.
Don't go to them unless you want to waste your time.
Either they should've renamed the position to DATA SCIENTIST or should have not shortlisted my profile.
Calling and telling me that I am not fit is really not acceptable.
2 days later when I called the HR and asked feedback or any reason for my rejection then she told me that my python skills were unsatisfactory.
I would like to challenge her on this because if it was so I shouldn't get good ranks in CodeChef and HackerEarth competitions. And I shouldn't have completed their assignment and that too using Python scripting, OOPS and NLP(did NLP in python)
I am glad that I wasn't selected otherwise I would have to work under a very arrogant and uncouth TL(the interviewer)
But yes, PATHETIC EXPERIENCE that they wasted my 3-4 valuable days. I could have something instead of wasting my own time.
A strong message to the Company: Please be in sync with your Hiring Team and Developers. I felt a lot of miscommunication between yourselves regarding the skills needed from a candidate. Time is the most valuable asset for everyone these days. Try respecting it.
