      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Common Goal (Berlin) in Jan 2024

      Interview

I recently went through an interview process for a job, and overall I was quite impressed. The information about the role was very clear from the job description, which made it easy for me to understand what the job entailed and whether or not it was a good fit for me. One thing I really appreciated was that they were very good at communicating and keeping me informed throughout the process. They let me know how long it would take for them to respond after each round of interviews, and they stuck to that timeline, which was really helpful. Even when the process took longer than expected, they were respectful enough to let me know during the second round that it would take more time, which I appreciated. The only negative aspect of the process was that they didn't disclose the salary range in the job description. However, they did tell me during the interview, which was good to know. It would have been nice to have that information up front. For me that’s transparency. But in general, the clear communication and respect they showed throughout the process made me feel valued and appreciated as a candidate. Although I didn't get the job offer, I like to focus on the bigger picture and I'm confident that they chose the right person for the benefit of the children and youth involved in the project. Another thing worth mentioning is that the current People and Culture Manager was really kind and human throughout the process. This is something that most HR processes don't have, and I really appreciated it. She even agreed to give me some feedback, which was nice. However, I did find it a bit awkward because she focused more on the abilities of the person they chose, rather than my strengths and weaknesses for future interviews. While it's helpful to know what the successful candidate did well, I would have appreciated more personal feedback on areas where I could improve.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Most questions were related to areas of the job description, so someone with the required experience and prepared with the CARL method would perform well. One interesting question was: tell us about one mistake you made on a project and what you did.
