      Comm Ops Fulfillment Representative Interview

      Jun 27, 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Comcast in Jun 2013

      Interview

Applied online, received email instructing on scheduling phone interview. Was able to schedule phone interview the following day. I was interviewed on the phone by a pleasant young woman, that asked me general questions on how I would provide customer service, work as a team, ect. As the interview went on, I I thought everything was going swell, until she proceeded in asking me detailed questions about my job gaps, in other words, I initially provided my employment history to Comcast, with positions I have held that I felt best related to this position that I was applying for and was all of a sudden, being asked on why there were 2-6 job gap on my employment history. Now if this was a government position that I was applying for, I totally understand for security reasons, ect. but to say the least, I was caught off guard in being asked about my 2-6 month job gaps, and detailing on what I was doing between that time. From my experience in being interviewed multiple times by other companies, I have never been asked in the past year, on why there were 6-12 month job gaps on my resume. From what I understand and again from experience, most employers look for what experience you have in the past that relates to the position you are pursuing. So needless to say, I didn't get the position since I could hear the interviewer's voice become frustrated, where I took my time in explaining all the jobs I had for a month or two and why I left the job in the past 5 years, since I was unprepared in answering those 2-6 month job gap questions. It wasn't a fun experience for me to say the least but I do realize it may be a protocol they must follow in interviewing people over the phone. My only suggestion to Comcast would be, be more specific on how important it is to this company, to know all the employment details you have had in the past five years, even if the job only lasted 1-3 months. Thank you :-)
