I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Closinglock (Austin, TX) in Sep 2025
Interview
I completed a comprehensive interview process that included:
Initial phone screen with recruiter (~10 min)
Video interview with engineering lead - conversational, focused on experience and past projects
Video technical assessment with engineering team (30 min coding challenge)
Onsite with four back-to-back interviews:
Extended technical session with engineering team
Director of Engineering interview
Design team culture fit discussion
VP of Engineering conversation
The Team:
The engineering organization is experienced and knowledgeable. Interviewers were professional and clearly passionate about their work. Technical assessments were relevant to the actual job responsibilities.
Communication Challenges:
The recruiter served as the sole point of contact throughout the process. Response times were inconsistent, typically requiring follow-up after 7-10 days to get updates on next steps. Requests for interview preparation guidance went unanswered. After the final round, I received no communication despite two follow-up attempts over four weeks.
For Future Candidates:
Expect a thorough, multi-stage process with significant time investment. Build in 1-2 weeks between each round for scheduling. Be prepared to drive communication forward yourself. The technical team is strong, but process transparency and candidate communication could be improved.
