I had an interview with a junior recruiter. Interview went well. However, I warned the recruiter that I was living out of the USA and that I would need a sponsorship to be able to work for Clarifai. He assured there was no problem for that. In his follow-up email, he then told me that it was in fact not possible to offer me a sponsorship at that moment, and that the hiring process was therefore stopping there.
Was contacted by third party recruiter who forwarded my profile to the company. Interview process was as follows: 2 phone interviews and an onsite interview.
Pros:
- I had to reschedule multiple times due to my travels. The recruiter was very helpful
Cons
- For the second phone interview I was told "isn't a very heavy technical conversation"but I was grilled on computer vision algorithms and fundamentals. I would been better prepared if I was told it was a technical interview.
my biggest concern - I was told after the 2nd round I will get an update in about 2 weeks, but received an automated mail saying I was rejected within a few days. I was surprised that the company did not have the basic courtesy of having a recruiter getting in touch with me to regarding the rejection. If this is how they treat their candidates/prospective employees, I can only imagine for current employees. I am glad I got rejected, as I would never ever want to work for a top-notch startup which treats people so bad!
