I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter almost immediately. We had a quick phone screen where I was asked to confirm basic information (expected pay range, high level experience question).
After the phone screen, I was scheduled for the next round. This next round interviewer seemed distracted (on/using their cell phone) and there were several other minor red flags (i.e, borderline unprofessional comments), but I was contacted quickly after that to schedule more interviews and decided to proceed. The next interview round consisted of multiple back to back interviews with different employees. These interviews were very enjoyable and renewed my interest in the role/company. After these interviews, I received no contact from the company for almost two months. Finally, I was contacted for the next round, which was also an enjoyable and professional interview. I then had a final interview with the first round interviewer, which was similar to my first experience with this individual. They did not seem to recall major details we had previously discussed, to the point I was worried they had another candidate's information. I then received a rejection email.
The time from when I submitted my application to when I received rejection was over 3 months, and 6 interviews (7, if counting phone screen). Negative review is not due to lack of offer, but instead the number of interviews, the length of process, behaviors during interviews, and lack of communication between steps.
