It’s quite concerning when the hiring manager of an HR company lacks basic people skills. The interview focused heavily on corporate-style questions about my career experience and technical knowledge, without any interest in getting to know me as a person. It felt as though the interviewer was simply looking for jargon that matched their checklist, rather than assessing my potential.
The job posting claimed to be open to candidates at various stages of their careers, but it was evident that they were really looking for someone far more senior. (Why not just advertise a senior role?)
Midway through the interview, the interviewer abruptly ended the interview, stating that I didn’t have the “correct” skillset for the role. The way this was handled came across as belittling and condescending, which left me completely uninterested in the role or the company.
