I participated in two panel interviews and an onsite interview that required significant travel to Orange County. Throughout the process, everyone I met was professional and welcoming.
However, I was disappointed by the lack of communication at the conclusion of the hiring process. After investing considerable time in multiple rounds of interviews and traveling for the onsite meeting, I discovered that the position had been filled only by checking my application status online, which was updated to "Position Filled." I never received a phone call or email informing me that another candidate had been selected.
While I understand that organizations receive many applications and hiring decisions can be difficult, candidates who have progressed through multiple interview rounds deserve a direct and timely update. A simple email would have demonstrated professionalism and respect for the time and effort invested by applicants.
My feedback is not about the hiring decision itself, but rather the lack of communication at the end of the process.
