Shocked about the process. First had to "take a quick test". Followed by another one. Followed by an essay I had to write.
I put a lot of effort into all of these steps and only got an interview with someone after that. This person didn't know anything about the role. Questions about number of employees remained unanswered too....
Got a second interview, this time with the "hiring manager", who didn't bother to show more than his forehead after the first minute of the video call (I seriously don't know what he looks like).
2 weeks later, I received an invite with the exact same content as the previous one. I replied and asked if it was an accidental invite. Never got any answer (more than a month ago now).
If you ask someone to put in that much effort up front, at least take the time to tell them if they don't get picked.
I've always been a big fan of Canonical, I'm on Ubuntu since day 1, I even still have the very first CD of Ubuntu at home (v4.10) but this really made a dent in the respect I have for the company
