Cadian Capital Management interview questions

I felt good about my initial interview and was told at the end that I would speak with someone next if I was interested. I said I was, but then didn’t hear back from the hiring manager even after sending the thank you follow up. Weeks later, the job search agency I worked with informed me that the hiring manager offered the role to someone else. I was very confused by this outcome when she gave me the impression that I would continue interviewing.
