I applied through university. I interviewed at Burns & McDonnell (Saint Louis, MO) in Jan 2018
Interview
They have a pre-recorded interview section that I ran into some problems with. The questions were however very straight forward and not difficult at all. I do recommend getting to a place with better internet for the interview if you struggle with that.
I applied online. I interviewed at Burns & McDonnell
Interview
5 questions online. Lockdown browser, 2 tries for each question and 30 second breaks between each question. Questions were mostly general questions and there were no super technical questions. The interview should take you around 30 minutes maximum or maybe a little bit more
I applied through university. The process took 7 months. I interviewed at Burns & McDonnell in Sep 2023
Interview
No respect for candidates time or effort. Smooth interview, typical questions about your background and future plans. I did 3-4 interviews and saw them at two career fairs back to back. Each interview there was a new person who claimed the original couldn't make it (Ex Id get a Matt if a Sarah was scheduled for the interview). Most of the time the meetings were started 2-10 minutes late as the prior interview had gone over. Each interview a week or two apart had claimed they would get back to me in 2-4 weeks. I had followed up numerous times to thank them for the interview and then several weeks later asking if they had come to a decision. These people either have terrible time management, no respect, or are just severely understaffed. After 5 months of not a single response to my follow up emails I had found out the interview portal was still open. I scheduled myself another interview to get in contact with someone (Finally) and expressed my concerns. They then stated they would send an email higher up to respond to me in a week. Still no response, even after all that I expressed over the video call. I understand not getting selected for a job but a simple 'you were not selected for the job' would have sufficed. Most unprofessional and undervalued I have ever felt in my 5 years of college. The real kicker is that all those jobs I applied for online in September are still available now in February.
