It was a total joke. I have interviewed with multiple investment banks, management consulting and private equity firms, and then these Burger King clowns. Here’s the highlights: tried to intimidate me and throw me off guard by suddenly switching to a foreign language mid conversation based on my resume. No one has ever done that. You should never do that. And it did nothing but turn me off to your company. Tried to intimidate me with rapid fire brain teasers that your own employees couldn’t answer. Asked off the wall questions about who I should fire among the other candidates and why. Burger King, is this the type of toxic culture that you are trying to cultivate? I am a management trainee candidate, I do not need nor want to meet your CEO, CFO, CMO, or any other c-level executive during a management trainee interview. Perhaps you think this will intimidate, bring out the best in candidates, or demonstrate how important the program is. All it showed me is that your c-level is incapable of delegating even low level hiring to management. You are an embarrassment. When you provided your offer, I promptly turned it down and I’ll be sure to share with every finance/investment club, business and economics major, and anyone I come across that starts talking about jobs how terrible your organization is. You should be ashamed, especially after offering me literally 30% of the final offer I accepted.
