      Project Manager Interview

      Oct 4, 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Ciudad de Mexico
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at British Council (Ciudad de Mexico) in Nov 2012

      Interview

Fill in a Word format application downloaded from the company's website, by the way, not a very friendly format basically regarding personal information and professional career. Submit the application, and wait to be contacted only if your application made it to the short list, otherwise you dont event know if the email really arrived to the right person. Once you are contacted, they ask you if you can attend to an interview specifying time and place, if not please advice at your convinience (something very polite). The interview was not very knew, it was very closely related to the list of behaviours the company provides to fill in the application form, nothing technical, no challenging questions, it was like reaffirming what I wrote down on the application form. I was interviewed by two people, one of them couldnt stop smilling in the end she approached to be said she was impressed. The other woman never smilled, only appeared to be satisfied when I said that I ask my manager for support when I need it. Before that, I thought she was bored by my interview and dissatisfied.

      Interview

Poor communication, too many people involved in the overall process to set up interview. It just seems to be jumping through a lot of hoops. So it was a stressful experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at British Council in Jul 2025

      Interview

I interviewed on 22 July and was told I would be informed of the outcome on 25 July. After several follow up emails and being told to continue waiting I was finally rejected on 8 August, two weeks after being told the decision would be made. It was quite obvious that the job had been offered to someone else and they were deciding, but the lack of transparency in the interview process and disregard for the candidate experience is really disappointing and has given me a poor view of the organisation as a whole.

For what I experienced: you need to send the cv via the official site. Check the deadline well, including which time they are using for the deadline (local or UK time, if not UK based).

      Question 1

They want to know specific examples of how you applied your skills.
