Three terrific meetings with recruiters and their team who found me via LinkedIn. The final meeting, and most important "first" interview with BMS, was a complete bust. Why? Because the actual job description was unclear and I ultimately was not qualified for the job interview. Instead of all of the preamble, which was helpful and encouraging as far as look and performance are concerned, matching my skills with the hiring manager's should be thought out more carefully by recruiters and/or they have a better handle on the actual job. I don't regret the experience but fielding questions about unknown acronyms and technical language that sounded foreign to me put me in a terrible position -- and the experience they required was not on my resume. I will gracefully bow out well in advance the next time this happens as I really felt blindsided. I am not blaming anyone, just explaining the situation so I am owning my end and will not allow flattery of being sought out to take hold of my perspective and keep me realistic about an employer's needs.
