      Finance Interview

      Jun 23, 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Bridgewater Associates in Feb 2014

      Interview

The whole process was really long and tiring. It started from a phone interview. They recorded the whole interview. It was an hour long. Once you passed, they will ask you to do personality test.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What would you do if your peers confronted you about something but you knew that you were right and they were wrong.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Bridgewater Associates (Bridgeport, CT) in May 2022

      Interview

Four rounds including meeting with various members of team and department. One interview was "discussion exercise" which was definitely different. It was not different in a bad way, just not something I've experienced on any other interview.

      Question 1

Controversial questions (with pushback) about non finance related issues

      Finance Interview

      Apr 19, 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Westport, CT
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bridgewater Associates (Westport, CT) in Jul 2016

      Interview

If you get through the initial resume screen, you'll be invited to fill out multiple psychological-centric surveys. If your results are in line with what that team is looking for, then you'll have to speak with an outside consultant who'll ask random questions. Their role is to ascertain how you think and figure out how you process information. Then if you do well on that, then a phone interview with the hiring manager. If that goes well, you'll get invited on campus for a full day of interviews. Depending on the team, you might have a test (coding/math/etc). The face to face is where you get your first taste of Ray's Principles. Everything is recorded, even the phone interview previously mentioned. You'll either love it or hate it, hopefully you find out before accepting. The interview process is long and a bit of a headache but I liked it. I turned the role down because there's no amount of money they could pay me to work for the hiring manager, otherwise I probably would've accepted.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Why did you think (a task I mentioned during the interview) was challenging, is it because it actually is challenging or you just don't know what you're doing?
