I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Block in Aug 2021
Interview
- 30 mins phone screen with recruiter
- One or two 1 hour technical screens.
- 6 hour onsite (3x 1 hour technical screen, 1x 1 hour system design, 1x 1 hour past technical experience, 1x 30 mins with hiring manager)
Personally, my interview experience was great, if not one of the best I've ever had. The recruiter and interviewers were all kind and supportive — it really didn't feel like they were out to get me. Every technical session did somewhat feel like a pair programming session, not just a one-sided interview.

Question 1
NDA so can't reveal the actual questions, but they are similar to most other big tech interview questions. Mainly data structures & algorithms problems, but the interviewers sprinkle a bit of their own flavor to make the problems a little more personable rather than just throwing regular textbook questions at you.
Inital take home, followed by extension interview, followed by a coding challenge, followed by system design interview.
The whole process took 3 months!
The interviewers are usually really nice and want you to do your best.
The interviewer was nice, and he is friendly and willing to give hint, the question has 2 follow-ups, it was hard to complete in time. The question was not a typical LeetCode
Phone screen and then a full day of interviews. 3 pair programming challenges, a system design review and a prior experience interview. There was also an onsite lunch with a person from the company.
