I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at BlackRock (Atlanta, GA) in Feb 2020
Interview
All-day interview with 2 stages. First was a 3-piece gauntlet with code review, system design and leetcode mediums. Second stage was interviews with matching teams for passers.
Personally I did not like the recruiters' tone, which was a bit condescending and validated my fears reading others describing the company with engineers being treated as second-class citizens.
At one point I was dropped in a meeting room waiting near an hour for a call. I was ready to get up and leave just before a recruiter came in unapologetically to see if I wanted to talk to another person. I said yes and after another 10 minutes of sitting it was over without ceremony.
Got verbal offer by recruiter 'being blunt' and saying I should request less due to my 'lack of experience' before giving a range with me agreeing on the top end of it. Radio silence afterwards as company went into a covid freeze
