I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at BitMED (Austin, TX) in Mar 2018
Interview
In my 22 years of employment I've never encountered a company that was so unprofessional in their hiring practices. I've never reviewed an interview before, but feel compelled to tell others to stay away from BitMed.
OVERVIEW
• Process took about two months, beginning on 3/2
• It included one informal chat over beers; one informal chat over lunch; one 2:1 formal interview; one 3:1 panel interview; and multiple calls with the CEO
• BitMed verbally invited me to join their company on 4/3
• I waited for the promised formal written offer between 4/4 - 4/30
• BitMed rescinded their verbal invite to join on 5/1 (via email, didn't even receive a call)
When I let BitMed’s leadership know I felt very disrespected by being strung along for two months only to be dumped via email, they pretended they never made a verbal offer to join in the first place. I received emails from multiple people explicitly stating that BitMed wanted me to join mid-May. Not sure why they were trying to gaslight me.
Frankly, I've never felt so mistreated by a prospective employer. After negative interactions with BitMed's execs, I'd advise you to not waste your time (unless you like your own time wasted).
We understand your frustration and appreciate you taking the time to voice your experience. We want you to know that we're taking this as a learning opportunity to be better. We take hiring very seriously and we want our candidates to have the best experience.
As a growing company, we’re working on solidifying our process when it comes to setting the right expectations with our candidates and doing so in a timely manner. Again, we thank you for offering your feedback.
