Bethel Bakery interview questions

simple and easy. not overwhelming. asked basic interview questions. got a brief tour of the bakery. the employees seemed happy and enjoying their work. Training is offered for people not experienced with sales

First interview was with a HR professional, with the final three candidates then being "interviewed" by the owner of the business. This "interview" consisted mainly of being put in front of a laptop and given a list of 8 or so tasks from writing copy for a bread product after taste testing it , to designing signage for another product to other more involved marketing questions that would have needed data to answer or proceed other than on a gut feeling. You had an hour to either complete all tasks or get as many done as you could. This is the first and only time I have been asked to complete a performance test as an "interview." To my mind this goes beyond even what I feel is a tainted practice of doing work on spec to land a new account. All work product produced during this interview was kept by the company, and could have been used without compensation. I understand that this is a bakery and they routinely create samples of their products in order to build business. I wonder if they hire an accountant, or lawyer the same way with those professionals being asked to work on the company books or legal issues as a type of performance interview.
