      Legal Counsel Interview

      Jun 3, 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Bending Spoons

      Interview

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Bending Spoons (London, England)

      Interview

My interview process with Bending Spoons took place over the course of several weeks and included multiple stages. The early stages were a set of online tests. They ranged from questions about personal aspirations and motivation, to logic/problem-solving, to work-style scenarios. The work-style parts weren’t overly “technical legal” exams—instead they focused on how you prioritize, coordinate with other teams, and choose a sensible path to tackle legal issues (even when you don’t yet have the full answer). After that, I had an interview with HR. The HR interviewers were genuinely kind and gave me time to think. The discussion was structured around understanding my mental process and how I reason through problems. Finally, I interviewed with one/two members of the team. This stage also felt primarily about mutual fit (on both sides), with a couple of targeted questions to calibrate technical level, but the overall emphasis stayed on how you think and collaborate. Everyone I met was very respectful and welcoming. If you make it to offer stage, compensation and benefits are very competitive and generous. Overall, the process seems designed to assess both personality and skills (technical and soft skills). The key is to demonstrate that you’re proactive, hungry to learn, and able to approach problems in a smart, structured way—even when you don’t have an immediate solution.

      Question 1

See description above. As mentioned the process seems designed to assess both personality and skills (technical and soft skills). My advice to candidates: Come prepared for online logic/problem-solving assessments, and be ready to explain your reasoning step-by-step. In interviews, focus on showing how you prioritize, communicate tradeoffs, and partner with cross-functional teams to reach the right outcome.
