I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Bashor Children's Home (Goshen, IN)
Interview
The agency asks potential candidates to fill out a detailed application online. I heard back from them within a week to schedule an interview. During the interview process, they have interviewees meet with an employee with many years of experience, who is usually one of the staff therapists. Interviewees are read a series of situations and asked how they would respond/handle each situation. Interviewees are then asked to complete a 100+ multiple choice questions which look for general personality traits all the way to anxiety-related questions and/or personal experience with thoughts of suicide. Being 100% honest while answering these questions does not exclude candidates from being hired. Interviewees are asked to re-fill out a paper version of their original application. Some interviews might lead to you spending roughly 30 minutes in the agency's school to get a feel for the work environment.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One of the children you are working with begins swearing at you and showing many signs of aggression. How do you handle the situation?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Bashor Children's Home (Goshen, IN) in Oct 2025
Interview
You need 3 references who’ll be texted/emailed a questionnaire about you. You’ll then have an in person interview with a member of admin. Then you’ll complete the Diana screening which evaluates your comprehension of appropriate relationships and boundaries with minors. You’ll also have a very in depth personality test that’ll sort you into which unit they’ll want you in. It’s kinda like the Harry Potter sorting hat but with a lot more boring paperwork.
