I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Bare Necessities (New York, NY) in Sep 2025
Interview
Clear communication throughout between interview and recruiter. Was super engaged and made me feel seen & really focused on me. Didn't have long wait times between interviews (multiple rounds) was assigned a fair project to present for the last.
I applied online. I interviewed at Bare Necessities (Edison, NJ) in Dec 2019
Interview
Call from the recruiting staff and an in person interview with the Creative Director and HR. I met only 1 person ( Creative Director ) and a 2 minute talk with the HR lady but it took over 2 hours! The creative director talked on and on and on, interrogating me about my professional past and then she left the room. The HR lady came in and sat down with me for literally 2 minutes and during this time she ordered food online on her phone and interrupted the session to get her food from the delivery guy. Then she sat back down, jotted some notes on paper then she told me: that's all for today! And rushed me out of the room and their offices. Very rude and unprofessional.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
One of the questions was: How did I handle budgeting and financial planning in my past positions in the creative department.
Most questions came across as interrogation. She was trying to determine if I truly held the positions I indicated in my resume in the past. She would ask me questions such as: Where was the photo studio of your last employer located to see if I can give a detailed description of it. I felt like I was in the detective's office.
