      Account Executive Interview

      Aug 21, 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Diego, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Bank of Cardiff (San Diego, CA) in Aug 2017

      Interview

Arrived 10 minutes early for a scheduled on-site interview; was seated in a glass conference room where I was told three poeple would be individually coming in for introductions and discussion. At ten minutes after the hour, the HR person (who was very kind), stopped in the say "Mo" would be in shortly. Twenty minutes later, now half after the hour, still not one person showed up for the interview... (Note, not only was this a two hour round trip commute, but I was on site for 40 minutes with no interviewer/s ever entering the room - no explanations or apologies were ever offered.... This experience was very disappointing and unprofessional. Lesson learned: I would not want to work for a company that treats their employees or customers with such lack of regard or lack of respect. Being late happens to the best of us however when it does, one should personally check in with his appointment to provide: 1) an apology and reiteration that their time is valued and appreciated, 2) a reason for the delay and updated eta 3) an opportunity reschedule, if needed.)

      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bank of Cardiff (San Diego, CA)

      Interview

I first heard about the position through my recruiter. I looked at the description and it seemed like it was a good match. I met with several of their executives over a series of interviews, we talked about the business model, bonuses, and long term career goals. The whole process was not too bad. I went in feeling pretty confident about my skill set, and I did not feel that they were asking me ill willed questions. I think it is important to look and act professionally. If you know your stuff, they may want you or not, but you can walk away knowing that you tried your best.

      Question 1

They seemed to be very interested in my leadership skills. They asked me questions regarding group management, sort of like "how would you deal with this conflict?".

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Bank of Cardiff (San Diego, CA) in Jun 2013

      Interview

The good thing was that the whole process was pretty quick from beginning to end. I was looking for a new opportunity in the San Diego area having worked as an account exec for a couple of years. I saw the ad online and sent my resume. I heard back the following day, and after a brief telephone interview, was invited in to meet with the person who would be my line manager plus one of the other managers. I didn`t feel there were any questions I couldn`t answer. It was all about my work experience and what I was looking for in a new job. I think I did pretty well and they must have too as they offered me the position the next day. Not sure how many people they interviewed but there was more than one role up for grabs.
