      Assistant Accountant Interview

      Sep 17, 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Banco De Oro

      Interview

I had been an Accounting Assistant in BDO for more than 5 years. I resigned this year tho but i could only say good things about this company, my co-staffs and my service officers. So, I want to share this to you people, aspiring to be a part of the number one bank in the Philippines. So, I applied online as an Accounting Assistant back in Aug of 2013. It was first week of August. I can't remember if it was days later or the same day they texted me about the date of exam and interview (one day process only). The next part, I want to include this information because it was a crucial part of my application that time, So they told me via text that the exam will start exactly at 7:30 am(or was it 7am, sorry my memory sucks) anyways, so my journey from antipolo to greenhills was like a war (so hard to get in a bus and so TRAFFIC!) We (my college friend) were running late so we took a taxi and I wanted to give up but my friend told me we should still try. So we arrived at the venue before 8am AND THE EXAM was not yet starting, much to my surprise! I'm glad I listened to my friend. I think they told us 7am because you know, FILIPINO TIME! It only took one day process for the exams and interviews to be done. People applying for the position of CSA , AA and other positions (i think) were put in one room for the first part of exams which was your average exams like abstract and so, after that applicants for Accounting Assistants were left in the room for the second part which was about your basic knowledge of accounting! (Review your Accounting 101 guys!) Personally, I think I kinda fail this part because my mind blacked out then (but I was still hired!🤪) . After that we were interviewed by hr, asking about our preferred area and if we're willing to work during holidays and weekends .ps. just nod and say yes! 🤣 (i probably shouldn't say this but I want you to be confident and if this will help you then you're welcome=>dont be nervous because if they're wearing the same uniform as a tellers you see in branches, they are staffs just like what you were applying for, don't be nervous, i think they were already evaluating us even on this part). After that, its final interview time! Be respectful (well, be respectful and humble from the very start but be extra respectful and humble in this part because they are the bosses) be confident and smile. As a newly graduate without experience, the interviewer only asked me about what I have written in the forms they asked us to fill out after the first interview) mostly about yourself, your family, occupations of your parents so on,. You will recieved a thank you slip after this if you're not hired. But if they told you to wait in a room (or at least that's what happened to me) then you will received an endorsement for medical exam (in my batch because it was already late (read: 6pm) they told us we can take the exams the next day. If you completed this, you're gonna be scheduled for another part which you all will be informed of your final branch assignment and you will be endorsed to open an account at your designated branch. Personally, i didn't consider myself hired until i opened an account to my designated branch. And i heard from my former colleauges that even if you completed the medical exams it will took them months to contact you for the next step or not at all. In my case, i applied in the first week of aug. 2013 and got hired on sept 2, 2013. Dont be discouraged tho if they don't contact you in a month because my co-accouting assistant took 3 months before she was contacted again, she applied in other companies tho but bdo contacted her at the same time as the other company and she still chose bdo. I believed if it was meant to be, it will be. 😊 P.S. I also think that my Career Civil Service Professional Eligibility made a huge part on why I was hired immediately. I also encourage you to take this exam. It will be very helpful promise. If you don't know about this, asked around people especially those who work in government. I hope this help even a little because I was once like you, who turned to forums and such for advice but I didn't get much of an answer.
