We take this kind of feedback very seriously and have carried out a full review of the process and discussion with those involved. We follow a robust recruitment & selection process at Bailey & French, in accordance with ACAS best practice, and although we are a small organisation, we aim to have at least two interviewers involved in the hiring process. In this instance, following an initial interview with our HR team there was a second interview with two of our managers. On the day in question one of the managers was unable to dial in as her laptop had indeed malfunctioned. At this point the second manager offered to reschedule the interview but this offer was declined.
We believe in continual learning and we hold our professionalism in high regard, so if mistakes are made we will address these, learn from them and move forward. While we are satisfied that our process is fair, we are clearly disappointed to read about your experience, your resultant feelings and how some of the questions landed. We are therefore adapting our process to make sure candidates have clear communication of the process and further information about our strengths-based questions ahead of interviews.
We are confident that this was an isolated incident as we have had many positive conversations and feedback about our interview process, albeit these have been directly written to us rather than published on a forum such as this.
