I had a recruiter call for a Product Management role in Utah, but after the initial conversation I never heard back, not even a rejection, and it’s been about four months now. The whole process felt a bit disorganized. With the recent ownership change, it seemed like things were already getting rocky during interviews, and there was mention of a lot of turnover on the software side. Candidate experience definitely needs improvement.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Backcountry (Park City, UT) in Nov 2023
Interview
Met with the recruiter, then the hiring manager, followed by an in-person interview with the executive team. The entire process was quick, smooth, and straightforward, moving much faster than expected.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Backcountry (Park City, UT) in Jul 2023
Interview
It was very relaxed and based on conversation over all else, didn't feel as intimidating as other interviews. Interviewer was more focused on how I could contribute to the team and overall work environment, rather than focusing on just previous work experience and knowledge. Really felt they were trying to get to know me as a person and a worker.
