I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at AutoGravity (Irvine, CA) in Dec 2016
Interview
It was starting with phone interview and then face-to-face interview. The first task in the on-site meeting is solving problem on the white board. After engineer meeting, I could met HR and the executives. They made me comfortable and gave a cup of coffee. It was great interview. It seemed all good.
I applied online. I interviewed at AutoGravity (Irvine, CA) in Dec 2016
Interview
First was the phone screening, and then onsite. The onsite consists of interviews with the engineers that would give you some design and coding test, and later more interviews with the HR and the executives. I felt everyone is very passionate about the company. It's not just a job interview on what you know, you get also interviewed for the cultural fit.
Software Engineers are hard to find, especially technically gifted ones who are passionate about what they do. Congratulations on joining the team and thank you for bringing your passion and talent here to the AG team.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at AutoGravity (Irvine, CA) in Mar 2016
Interview
Applied through a recruiter and was contacted by Autogravity to schedule the interview. First part was a technical screening with questions about experience, one-liners, what terms and keywords meant. It was practical so wasn't too bad or too theoretical/tricky. Understanding of key concepts.
This was followed by a skype interview with live coding. The interviewer was helpful, understanding and was looking to help me succeed, learn more about me.
Then an in person interview. One thing that stood out was that the executives were honest about the responsibilities and expectations.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Data structure questions, live coding exercise over skype.
- The question was a straight forward array manipulation but required some thought.
- This was followed by a role and experience specific coding question, which needed more than the remaining time, so turned into a discussion about the design decisions and what I would have done and how.
- The on site was simple, seemed like they had made a decision already and were screening for a culture fit. Made me feel welcome. Previous experience, how would you solve certain problems, what do you do outside of work.
