The process started with me trying to contact the Recruiter on and off for about 2 weeks. I applied via online application, I tried LinkedIn and in the end had to reach out to another Product Manager at the company to even get in contact, which finally happened.
I had a brief phone screen with the Recruiter who told me that I sounded like a good potential candidate but that the company was having their annual retreat in Panama the following week so I should contact him the week after if I didn't hear from him for a follow up.
While the company was having the retreat, they announced their Series D so I sent a quick email to the Recruiter congratulating him and the company. It was an awesome achievement. Radio silence. Cool, he said he'd be out of touch that week.
I wait until the following week and follow up via email as instructed, again radio silence. I waited another week and followed up one more time via email, again nothing.
I finally got an email back 3 weeks later, with a very brief email, telling me they went with another candidate. HORRIBLE recruiter with zero common curtesy, which is no doubt an indicator of the quality of the company. I'm glad I didn't get any further along.
