      Senior Corporate Role Interview

      Nov 11, 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Ausgrid

      Interview

Process: The process took nearly three months and involved four separate interviews, including with executives. After each stage, it took around 1.5-2 weeks to receive any update. Prior to my final interview, I was told I was the only remaining candidate and was asked to complete reference checks, which I did quickly. Then I heard nothing after my final interview at all for two and a half weeks. Eventually, I was called not to offer the role or even feedback, but to be told that they had already hired someone else who hadn’t even applied for the job and was instead approached directly. Feedback: The only feedback offered was that the successful candidate had “slightly more experience in a specific area they needed” nothing meaningful, no discussion, and no constructive insight after months of interviews. Overall impression: While the interviewers themselves were polite and professional, the recruitment process was disorganised, opaque, and disrespectful of candidates’ time. Being told I was the sole applicant, only to be ghosted for weeks and then replaced by someone who never even applied, was incredibly unprofessional. If Ausgrid wants to maintain a strong employer reputation, they need to communicate clearly, treat applicants with basic transparency, and close out processes properly, especially for senior roles where candidates invest significant time and effort.
