Applied through Remotive.io, got contacted in 24 hours and invited to slack. Their recruiter and a full stack engineer are there to guide you through the process. They try to mimic a work environment which was new to me. I enjoyed the process as even though I did not get an offer. Communication was always clear and to the point. I got a detailed overview on why I did not progress to the next stage.

Question 1
Build a backend in nodejs/express --> design an app (diagrams etc) --> complete the frontend in react/redux
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Aula in Jun 2019
Interview
Process was mostly asynchronous mimicking the way they work. Got invited to their Slack recruitment channel.
Process contained
- one take home coding challenge focusing on backend part
- one take home system/architecture design challenge
- another take home coding challenge focusing on front-end
After passing these steps I had two 1-hour on call interviews in a row. First with the technical part with the CTO and one of the senior devs where we went though the code assessment. The second part was with the COO and product management focusing on cultural fit.
During this process their super friendly in-house recruiter took care about the process and kept me very well up to date. He also gave the final feedback in the end of the process. I was good technical fit but not cultural fit.
All in all the process required plenty of work but was interesting and everyone I met were really nice.
