Interview
I interviewed a bit over a year ago so there may have been some changes since. Onsite interview is pretty standard, 3 technical interviews, a values interview and a manager interview. The interview process was great and I had a fantastic experience. The interviewers make sure you are comfortable and interviews have more of a collaborative feel, which I really enjoyed as it shows how it is to work with others at Atlassian.

Question 1
Technical questions ranged from data structures to systems design, others were values-based.
Two coding rounds, one system design round, and two behavioral rounds. The process took 1-2 months in total. Once I passed, I was placed on-hold until new head-counts are available, after which I had a couple team match calls.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Atlassian (Sydney) in Sep 2024

6 rounds over 3 months, positive feedback for all interviews
(1 Karat + 2 Coding + 1 Sys Design + Values/Management)
Was told no hire because first coding interview did not display level of technical expertise, despite passing. Very disheartening result.

The interview process was good; the questions asked were truly distinctive. It felt more like a conversation than an interview, and at the same time, the individuals participating in the interview were professionals.
