I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Atlassian (Sydney)
Interview
Responded to a job advertisement for a Group Product Manager. The young recruiter said that job was "beyond me" but offered to organise a call with the VP of Product Management. I was asked to fill out a questionnaire about my thoughts on and experience with product management, which I thought was an excellent first step in the process. The one phone interview ended up being with a young, inexperienced Group Manager, who conducted one of the worst interviews I've ever done. Very narrow and repetitive situational questions. After a while, the interviewer must have changed to speakerphone and it was hard to hear her clearly. A few days later I received the rejection email, which included feedback. I am really impressed that they provided feedback and I want to encourage that, however it showed how little the interviewer understood about me, how I think and what I've done - which is both my fault and hers
Screening, multiple interviews with different stakeholders, challenge with multiple people in attendance. quite detailed and in-depth. pretty straightforward. Negotiated offer before accepting. Process is quite long but not too frustrating as they keep you up to date.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Atlassian (Seattle, WA) in Aug 2025
Interview
Resume screening at Atlassian is not good as I got rejected and got in because I was able to get a hold of someone that is in the organization. So, unless you know someone getting a call from this company has slim chances.
The call with recruiter was very standard template oriented. After that I had a TPM screen where a peer interviewed me. Despite technical challenges, feedback was positive but they moved forward with other candidates. I felt like there was a lack of transparency in the process.
