I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Array (NY) in Mar 2025
Interview
I was contacted by someone from Array’s talent team for an Executive Assistant role, and yes they reached out to me first through LinkedIn. I never submitted an application, in fact I never saw an official job listing for this position. Not even on the company’s website. Thus I was given different details regarding what the role would entail throughout the interview process. I was under the initial impression that I’d be supporting 2-3 people within the leadership team. However, towards the end it was clear that I’d be an additional assistant for the CEO and his family. The overall process included 2 assessments, and 5 interview rounds over the course of 2 months. The last requirement would be me coming to meet with the team in office, so 6 steps in total. During my final interview (which was randomly added on) I spoke with the CEO’s wife who “usually doesn’t do these” as she explained it. Overall the interview process should be significantly shorted. It shouldn’t take 2 assessments and 5/6 interviews to know if you’d like to pursue a candidate. It’s a waste of time for both sides, and for a company that is yet to reach profitability I’m not sure why all of this is required. At the end of the process I received an email from Array to leave a review on Glassdoor. I don’t think this is the smartest idea on Array’s part as this has prompted me (and can easily be done by anyone else) to uncover a plethora of negative reviews regarding the company, their consistent layoffs, and its mismanagement. After even further review I uncovered an ongoing lawsuit against Array from a former employee that is set for pretrial at the end of 2025. If possible, read the interview and employee reviews beforehand.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How do you thrive in situations with no clear directions?
Honestly the whole emotional IQ and testing seems ridiculous! That is in no way going to tell how a candidate works! Some people aren’t good under quiz like settings! The no calculator thing discriminated against people with learning disabilities! I’ve never once used any of those things working as an high level EA! Reading a random question and then saying guess what face this matches unbelievable! When reading someone’s emotions is much more than facial expressions 🤦♀️
