      Manager Interview

      Interview

This organization is seemingly weeding out neurodivergent candidates through ableist psychometric assessments. From reading the reviews (the majority of which are negative), it doesn't appear that assessments are sent out consistently, which is another recruiting red flag. Array, do better.

      Interview

Was asked to take a CCAT test as are many others just to have the chance to interview. Incredibly prejudiced and not a good test of the ability to do the job. When I did interview, the team seemed nice, but their technical abilities were concerning. The technical interviewer didn't know several technical concepts that I discussed, which ultimately was a major factor in me declining the offer (in addition to the low salary).

      Manager Interview

      Apr 6, 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Array (NY) in Apr 2021

      Interview

The interview process starts with a personality/aptitude "test", which takes ~20 minutes. I don't know what attributes they're looking for here, but I made it past it to the next round - which was a 20 question questionaire asking a bunch of random-y technical questions geared more towards a dev. Again, no personal contact had happened - just emails from a random source. After this phase, you get to talk with an actual recruiter - not the hiring manager, not any potential team members. My first attempted meeting with the recruiter was cancelled at the last minute, and I was told to reschedule with her. I shouldn't have bothered at this point as it had been many weeks since I first applied...So the day finally comes and I get to talk to an actual human. After a whopping 20 minute conversation in which I was told repeatedly how busy she was and how many people she was slated to talk with, and how many people she had to hire, the conversation ended. Not surprisingly a day or two after that I received my "we're not interested" generic email. Do not bother with this company. There is something wrong with this scenario.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

None of consequence. The "recruiter" described the current tech stack, asked why I wanted to leave my current position, and maybe asked one other generic BS HR-ish question.

First and foremost, we are very sorry to hear about your experience. That scenario does not meet our company standards either, so we understand your frustration. We have since streamlined our approach and began providing a more thorough explanation of our interview process during the initial interview to create a more constructive experience for candidates! Thanks again for your input.
