The interview process was disorganized and, in later stages, deeply uncomfortable.
After several positive conversations, I was told the team was finalizing details, which strongly implied an offer was forthcoming. Instead, I was unexpectedly scheduled for a late-stage interview with the CEO. This conversation felt interrogative rather than collaborative and was a sharp departure from the tone of the earlier rounds.
During this interview, I was repeatedly questioned about why I left every role on my resume, including being explicitly asked multiple times whether I had been “let go” from each position. I was also pressed repeatedly to explain why I left my most recent company after six months, with the questioning framed in a way that seemed to encourage me to badmouth my former employer.
The repetition and framing of these questions went beyond standard due diligence and made me uncomfortable. Combined with sudden changes to the interview process and inconsistent communication, the overall experience felt like a bait-and-switch.
Based on my experience (and similar accounts from other candidates), AptDeco would benefit from clearer process alignment, more professional late-stage interviewing practices, and greater respect for candidates’ time and boundaries.
Advice to Management:
Be transparent about hiring decisions, avoid last-minute process changes, and ensure interviews, especially executive-level ones, are conducted in a respectful, structured, and professional manner.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you had to manage multiple priorities at once?
I applied through other source. I interviewed at AptDeco in Dec 2025
Interview
Met with who I believe would've been with my direct manager via Teams. Discussion was fine and next steps were clear. However, I was not contacted by the time I was told and gave the interviewer 2 extra days (making it a whole week) before sending a follow up email. It's almost a month after the initial interview and I still haven't heard anything. Ghosting candidates is just so unprofessional. Would have appreciated an email saying they were no longer looking or chose someone else.

Question 1
Tell me about a time where you had to handle an upset client.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at AptDeco
Interview
Applied online, heard back quickly, had a 1 hour call with the founder who was to follow up in a week...that was 3+ months ago. I've followed up multiple times now. GHOSTED. Really poor form.

generic "tell me about yourself and background". No thought or structure put into the conversation.
