Question 1
How much do you "direct" activity vs "do" in order to get things done?
Phone interview was set up with HR recruiter. Recruiter was given a list of questions by the hiring manager because he was so busy. So it was essentially not an HR screen but a technical interview with someone non-technical. Not ideal and shows they were not interested in culture fit but rather hard tech skills.

Question 1
Do you have experience with refrigeration cycles and designing refrigeration components?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Aprilaire (Sun Prairie, WI) in May 2025
Interview
Their process was a bit slow, taking about 2 weeks between each interview step, but the recruiter was very responsive when I emailed for updates. The process was HR phone screen -> 45 minute video interview with the supervisor for this role -> 30 minute video interview with their UX contractor -> 4 hour onsite of 6 different sessions with various people. The onsite was almost entirely with engineering people that the role would have interacted with. There wasn't any type of formal portfolio presentation, take home assignment, or any on-site workshopping.
