      Account Specialist II Interview

      Apr 25, 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Aon

      Interview

Second time interviewing with Aon with similar end experience. The first time it was a two month process where I made it to the end only for the recruiter to say that I was not selected, but that they would like me to start over and interview for a different position. This was after multiple interviews at various levels. I turned it down. The second time, a recruiter reached out regarding a position that I had not applied for. I had a phone conversation with the recruiter, a video interview with the hiring manager, a "super day" interview with 6 people on site, and a interview with the VP. The company kept dragging their feet only to find out two weeks later that I was not selected. This was after taking time off of my job during the week for a full day and paying close to $50 for city parking. Please do better Aon. It was over 2 months of interviewing and 9 interviewers only to receive a generic e-mail at the end saying I did not get the job. I truly felt like just a number during the process and wouldn't consider Aon again due to the culture experience.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Aon (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

Interview process went pretty smoothly and lasted around 2-3 weeks. First I had a telephone call with the recruiter which was a pretty basic “get to know you” type call. Next I had an interview with the team member who would eventually be one of my managers. Again I was asked to walk through my experience and they also asked questions like why Aon, how do you know about the company, what are you looking for career wise, etc. I then had an interview with two members of the team in the position I was interviewing for which was more informative and gave me an opportunity to ask questions about the role which was nice. Next I had an interview with both the hiring manager and another person who would eventually become one of my managers, and they asked more on job specific and behavioral questions. I had one more interview with the hiring manager and soon to be manager, basically making sure this was the role I wanted and confirming my interest. At the end of the interview they told me they would be sending an offer shortly. Overall it was a good interview process, all team members seemed interested in what I had to say and provided a lot of info when I had questions. It was a bit difficult with essentially 5 interviews, scheduling them with my work schedule, but hey I don’t blame them for vetting well. It’s a pretty prestigious firm in insurance and good company to work for.
