Applied through Amtrak job posting and website. Was invited to take the online assessment which included customer service, safety and math evaluations. This assessment was timed and took about 120 minutes. After about a week or two I was contacted by local HR and asked to take a kinesiology test and then a face to face interview after confirming I passed the kinesiology assessment. At the face to face interview I was informed I was one of 7 finalists after 100 applicants.

Applied online in late October, I knew some people at Amtrak, and they gave me an edge on getting in (which I thought wasn't fair to other applicants). End of December I took the online personality, reading and math tests. About a week or so later they scheduled me for physical abilities test. I had an invitation to interview that same night and interviewed at the end of the week. The interview is a panel of three people. They ask about relevant experience, why you chose Amtrak, and behavioral "tell me about a time when you..." questions. In the end, they discussed what it would mean if you take the job and what they expect. After the interview, I just didn't feel right about it, though I got an offer, I realized I wasn't committed or as eager to do it as I thought, a good life lesson anyway.
