Interview
I was called for a phone interview. Got ask basic questions. Then was told to come in for a in person interview. However, after taking off from work the day I was told not to come in for the in person since the position was filled. Seems weird not to schedule interviews with no intention of meeting the candidate. Very unprofessional
Thank you for the feedback regarding the hiring process. During the phone interview I did try to make it clear that time is of the essence and we were trying to fill the position as soon as possible. Allowing candidates to self schedule their interviews is beneficial because they can select times/days that work best for them, however it does mean that some interviews are scheduled out further.
This department is hiring on an ongoing basis, so your resume is on file for future openings in the coming weeks, even though this particular position was filled. I appreciate your feedback and in the future I will improve my communication regarding hiring timelines and scheduling interviews.

Interview
At first, they asked me to finish a 5-page document, about information including my SSN. Then they gave me a spreadsheet and asked me to do generate a certain table and input variable values in Excel, but they didn't tell me what those variables mean in that table and told me to guess that. After that, they asked me to talk about my work experience, but seemed not interested in me at all in this process.
It sounds like we have some work to do on our approach to interviewing. Sorry that you didn't have a better experience. I really appreciate your honest feedback and I will look to improve the process.
Waited for twenty minutes, then interviewed with 5 minutes. The HR manager interviewed me. Asked basic information, like major, GPA, and so on. They also asked do I need sponsor for Internship.
