I was unpleasantly surprised with the interview process, I didn't think that companies like Amazon who pride themselves in being innovators conduct their interviews in such an old fashioned manner. I had a very pleasant first stage interview with the manager for the region and I got invited for the 2nd.
At the second interview I was interviewed by a peer of the role. The interviewer was 10 minutes late and conducted a very scripted, dry, one-way interview which felt more like a grilling. In some cases very silly questions were asked which are not appropriate given the level of seniority required for the role. Eventually it became somewhat evident that they were less experienced and could not keep-up with the depth of professional know-how.
