      Human Resources Interview

      Jul 26, 2021
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Allvue Systems in May 2021

      Interview

The process was pretty clear and consistent from recruiter to manager for the role. In addition was required to take a cognative and personalaity assessment which I gladly took as it was explained this is taken by everyone from interns to the CEO. Was also afforded the opportunity to speak with additional executives with the team and pick their brain. Ultimately the team has remained very cordial and welcoming throughout the process. The process was a tad bit lengthy, but understanding the market we are in presently they must have considered other candidates as well. Good things come to those who are patient.

      Question 1

Most of the questions asked where behavioral based questions about past experiences and how I have handled specific scenarios. In addition their were some metric based questions to measure past performance and some simple questions that just related to work style and adaptability to a fast paced environment.

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Allvue Systems

      Interview

The hiring manager seemed genuinely nice during our conversation, which made the overall experience even more disappointing. Unfortunately, the interview process was a masterclass in how not to treat candidates. The timeline and communication issues were significant. There were weeks of complete silence from the recruiter, with no responses to basic questions about next steps. Scheduling became increasingly restrictive as the process continued. It quickly became "only this day" and "only this time" requirements, with zero accommodation for candidates who have full-time employment elsewhere. Even during emergency weather conditions in NYC, they refused virtual alternatives and showed no acknowledgment of legitimate safety concerns. The expectation seemed to be that candidates should drop everything for their convenience. The communication throughout was unprofessional and disorganized. Multiple back-and-forth emails were required for basic scheduling coordination, with no clear process expectations or timelines provided. If this is how they treat candidates they're supposedly interested in, imagine how they treat employees. For a role specifically focused on people operations, the complete lack of empathy and flexibility was shocking. Your recruiting process is a direct reflection of your company culture, and candidates are evaluating you too.
