I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Allure Labs (Hayward, CA) in Nov 2024
Interview
HR Screen Call was the first step.
1-hour video interview with the CFO was the 2nd step.
"Supposed" to be a 1-hour video interview with board committee member.
Then final step would've been a on-site interview with another C-level executive.
I got rejected after the board committee member. If you've been in a lot of interviews, you can sometimes get subtle vibes of when the interviewer really likes you or dislikes you. It was the latter, and it wasn't that subtle.
No smiles the whole time.
I simply asked if she had any concerns I could address, and she said she doesn't make snap judgments (uh huh).
It was supposed to be an hour interview. She wrapped it up in 30 mins.
She didn't confirm if I was done with my questions, just wrapped it up.
The CFO was fair and reasonable. I wasn't sure I would even move past the CFO given his due diligence. But she sized me up real fast.
If you're finance--keep your expectations low. I only got the rejection letter after I followed-up. I was likely going to be forgotten and ghosted otherwise.

Question 1
Q: Do you have any experience with private equity or valuation?
Got an email from the recruiter to set up a call. Had a first round video call with the Production Manager and HR Manager. Next round was a in person round.

Question 1
Tell me about yourself and Other basic questions about my experience
Very straight forward, the HR manager and Head of Operations conducted the interview. Asked questions regarding lab experience and typical questions about why I would best fit in at the company.
