      Hardware Engineer Interview

      Jul 23, 2014
      Anonymous employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Airware (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2014

      Interview

I contacted the company directly. I had one phone screen and two on-site interviews, the first was an afternoon where I met with a hardware engineer and a systems developer for about a half-hour each. I was called back a week later for a full-day interview where I had a series of 1-on-1's, and a couple of 2-on-1's. I was interviewed by people I would be working directly with as well as members of management. Overall it was intense and fast-paced. I felt the interview questions were accurately targeted at where the company was (heading into production) and there were certainly some big-picture discussions. I was asked to whiteboard some code as well as some architecture diagrams.
