Pretty standard and quick process. met with HM and some senior leaders, very responsive and friendly recruiter.
What was unusual was the case presentation they asked me to do. In reading the feedback here I can tell many people had a similar experience. They asked me to build a presentation to address several prompts. I built it in the format of real life client situations of which I have extensive experience presenting to c-suite leaders so I know it was good. I typically ace these presentations with other companies I have interviewed with. The situations seemed simple enough but the prompts were so poorly written (seemed like a non-English speaker wrote them) and very vague. I assumed this meant it was up for me to make the most of it and present something broad and simple we could have a conversation and dialogue about. Usually these presentations are about assessing how candidates think and there isn’t an expectation the candidate would have deep product knowledge or get a “right” answer (since they don’t work there!). The feedback I received on the case was so specific and nit picky (in fact they took issue with me not presenting things that weren’t even in the case info). the only conclusion one could draw is they expect candidates to be an exceptional expert on them and their product/business model during the interview process, rather than have a strong functional expertise in Account Management. Seems like bizarre and self-defeating standards for a company that barely has name recognition compared to their competitors in the US. seems to be their culture to expect candidates to be spending all their waking hours preparing to work for them like they are Google or something. In the end, while I was disappointed to not get an offer I believe it’s for the best given the way they seem to evaluate candidates.
I will say the process was handled very professionally and the recruiter was herself very good. She was very quick to give me feedback and was transparent all the way through!
