Anonymous Interview Candidate in Waterloo, ON
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Advanis (Waterloo, ON) in May 2022
Excellent communication environment and the interviewer is really kind and relax. There are no hard questions. A really good interview experience. One question that I did prepare well is "What do you do in your spare time?".
- What do you do in your spare time?

I applied online. The process took 10 months. I interviewed at Advanis
The interview process was extremely long and dragged on for almost a year. I applied to the position online and was invited to complete an assessment. Months after completing the assessment, I have received an email inviting me for a phone interview. After the phone interview, I was invited to complete a 4 hour case study assessment. I completed the assessment just to hear back from them 7 months later for an in-person interview. The in-person interview took around 3 hours where I had to do a presentation of the case study that I completed months ago, and then was interviewed by 3 other staff members. After all this, they decided to not move forward with my application.
- Questions: - Case study presentation - Leadership - talk about experiences where you had to lead a team the outcomes -Scenario based questions - they wanted the smallest details - personal life questions - background, life experiences

You begin by filling out an online application with several mini questions regarding how you would communicate with a client, how you would problem-solve to make the most out of a situation, and going over basic math/statistics competency. They expect you to write a cover letter. If they like what they see, they will follow up with an email to extend a phone interview. The phone interview consists of 30 minutes to 1 hour with the standard phone interview questions to screen your viability with primarily behavioral questions. Once that is complete, you're provided with an emailed case analysis that you're expected to complete in four hours. You're then expected to present your findings in a fifteen-minute presentation with several higher-ups. Afterward, you can expect two more rounds of interviews consisting of 30min to 1-hour sessions in front of the hiring committee and various seniors, followed by a reference and background check. The phone interview was pleasant and straightforward. My only critique is that the interviewer never asked me to elaborate and had little to say in response to my answers. At the end of the call, I was told I would receive an email regarding their decision and to feel free to ask any further questions by email. I sent an email not long after with a few follow-up questions. I never received a response or a letter of rejection. Some concerns to be wary of: - Their compensation pitch is below fair market value (around 40k). - Their interviewing process is very rigorous and time-consuming. - They expect you to adapt to a fast-paced environment and work very flexible hours with compounding workloads during busy periods. They mentioned that they're looking for individuals who can resist burnout and juggle 3-4 projects/tasks at once. However, their website suggests that they value work-life balance, so YMMV. - They are hiring because of increased demands for their services, which I suspect will drop once the national/global market faces less uncertainty. - The job postings have been up for three months with no change.
- Phone questions: 1. Can you legally work in the country? 2. Can you tell me what you think we do? 3. What are your expectations in this role? 4. What are your hobbies? 5. Language(s) proficiency questions 6. General questions about your resume 7. If you had to choose between completing three separate client projects at a satisfactory level and completing two at an excellent level but failing one, what would you choose and why? 8. Compensation expectations 9. Tell me about a time that you had to deal with a difficult coworker 10. Do you have any questions for me? 11. Where did you hear about this position? 12. Where do you see yourself in five years?

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Toronto, ON
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Advanis (Toronto, ON) in Nov 2021
2 interview days, and 2 take home tests. Applied with a takehome project then a screening interview then a large, timed takehome analysis test where we had to produce a presentation then the next interview I presented my findings to the team. After that I had a chance to talk to senior analysts as well as the owner of the company. Overall excellent experience, just marketing is not my thing.
- Whats your expereience with SPSS?

First you have to go on their website. You answer a lot of questions and watch a lot of videos. You then do a simulation of an interview and they contact you if interested. If they contact you they do another interview by phone and if they decide to keep you, you do an online training that's paid.
- They asked me how I would react to a certain situation

My Application process was good and I was flagged ahead of a lot of other applicants. So one week later I was scheduled for a telephone interview. I found the telephone interview to be a little confusing. I have never done this kind of job before, and I was questioned about it. I felt that the telephone interview could have been more professional seen as I have never done this kind of job before. I won't re-apply unless I get a more professional interviewer. I was not impressed. I was not offered a job either.
- Sound like you are nervous? I said yes I was because I have never done this job before.

Need to be bilingual in Montreal office. Many tests to do via internet (call test, typing test, logical test...) .
- the typing test was a little bite "heavy" since you have to type without mistake as fast as you can. You have to do it in French and in English as well.

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Advanis (Edmonton, AB) in Sept 2011
Initial contact was via email to set up a telephone interview. I received a sample survey to practice and during the interview I read the survey and answered some questions. during the training process, it was about 8 hrs long. 5 hrs on the phone and 3 hrs of studying. All paid time. the 5hr on the phone training was good for getting used to surveys but not good for allowing you to get familiar and comfortable with the portal ... right after training they allow you to work - and it is overwhelming at first

The process for working at Advanis begins with an online application. All of their jobs are remote work-at-home positions, so online applications are the only acceptable way of applying for this position. Once Advanis reveiws your application and resume, they contact you (via email) to set up a telephone interview. The telephone interview process, I found, was quite easy. Previous to the interview, you had to quickly fill in a general pre-screening sheet and email it at least 1 day prior to your interview. You also have to print two different "practice" surveys to do during the phone interview. You also have to call a 1-800 line which is basically a telephone FAQ. The interview is relatively easy, all that was asked it, "Do you have any questions, do you meet the requirements, do you still want the job," and then you go through the two surveys, you pretending to be the interviewer, while your interviewer pretends to be the respondant. After the initial telephone interview (which took about 45 minutes), you have to complete a self-paced test and introduction to the company. This process takes about 3-5 hours to complete. You reveiw the company history, fill in the tax forms, and watch and learn how to do the job. In the end, you are tested, and are required to score a 36/41 to procceed. Next is a 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 hour conference group call, which consists if your group team leader and about 6 or 7 other candidates. In this phase, you reveiw 6 or 7 real calls, and assess them based on the curriculum and guidelines you learned about in the self paced training. This step is easy, and allows you to become introduced with your team leader and fellow co-workers.
